Move up to Word 2000?

T

Tom Duprex

I am currently running Word 97 on my Pentium II 340 MHz Windows 98
system. I am undertaking larger document projects that require Table of
Contents and Indexing in addition to the ordinary letters etc.

I am not having any major problems or issues. But in general is a move
up to 2000 something you would recommend?

TIA

You can certainly create TOCs and indexes in Word 97, so a decision to
upgrade would have to be based on other factors. See
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/compare.mspx

The current version of Word is Word 2003, but it will not run on Windows 98.
Word 2002 will, however, and you can get it very inexpensively as part of
Works Suite 2004 (see
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/products/suite.asp). If you intend
to upgrade at all, I would suggest Word 2002 rather than Word 2000.
