Moved from Outlook 2003 to 2000

I used a trial version of Office 2003 and recently
switched back to Office 2000. When exiting Outlook, the
program hangs and has to be ended through task manager.
Microsoft posted KB834005 on the subject but there is no
fix listed. I already installed Office 2000 SP3 with no
results. I called support for the fix they suggested and
it wouldn't even install. Microsoft's support wasn't
helpful and closed the call as unresolved.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? Migrating to Outlook
2003 again isn't an option.

Thanks.

Michelle

Have you recreated your mailprofile already after you downgraded from
Outlook. Recreating your mail profile is a very good practise when up- or
downgrading Outlook.

You can recreate your mail profile in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show
Profiles...

Also; do you connect to an Exchange server?

I've recreated the profile on my machine and I've created
new profiles on machines I've never logged on to before.
The problem consistently follows my profile. I'm looking
for other suggestions before I recreate the mailbox on
Exchange.

This proves that the error is in your mailbox now (at least for Outlook
2000). Try calling again for the patch (unless they are really sure that the
patch doesn't work). Recreating your mailbox is a good alternative.
