movie insertion

I inserted a movie (avi) into my presentation and it looks bad - the text and
graphics are falling apart.

Is this a case of a poor video or a case of it showing poorly in PPT? In
other words what does it look like when displayed in other players?

Ok, I suspect the issue is that the MCI player (used by PowerPoint) is
having a tough time decoding the media file and is eating CPU resources.
You could use an application like GSpot (do a Google on the name) to
determine what codec is being used and if it's installed properly on your
machine. The other issue is that it may have a very high bit rate and that
is causing the poor performance you are seeing. If that is the case you'll
need to re-encode it to something your machine and PowerPoint can handle.

Or,,, you could look at the add in we created to solve issues such as these.
You can download a free trial version (fully functional) of it from
www.pfcmedia.com and see if it doesn't solve all the issues. (I fully
believe it will.)
