moving emails into folders

Is there a way to move emails (not just copy) into folders like you can in Outlook? When I drag an email into a folder, it just sends a copy and then I have to delete it in my Inbox.

I gave up on dragging. Instead use the Move To command. You can find it in
the Message menu. Alternatively (and this is what I do), you can put the
Move To tool in various toolbars (I have it showing when I am reading a
message and when I am looking at my list of messages). This works great.

Entourage's behavior is different depending on what types of folder you
are transitioning between. There is another concurrent thread on this
very subject which explains it in detail, please refresh the forum.

I personally use the Move To menu option, other people like to hold
down the Option or Command keys when dragging.

Messages will simply be moved if you're moving them within the same
account or within the folders "On My Computer".

If you're moving messages out of an account, such as from an Exchange
account to the folders "On My Computer" then the default behavior is to
copy.

Hold the Command key down while you drag messages and they will be
copied and the originals deleted (essentially a "move").

Hope this helps!

Use command-drag.

This will force a move instead of a copy. it works just like dragin
files in the Finder - between different servers (and moving from an
exchange or IMAP folder to a local folder is moving between server) the
file/email is copied by default. Cmd-drag forces a move instead.
Dragging between different folders on the same server moves by default,
but a copy can be forced bu holding down the Option key when dragging.
