Moving from Outlook in XP to Entourage in Mac OS

Anurag Ahuja

I am currently using Outlook 2003 in a Windows XP environment to pull in my
email from yahoo and gmail accounts.

Now that I am using a MacBook Pro... I need to figure out a way to move all
my messages from Outlook 2003 in Windows XP to Entourage 2004 in Mac OSX.

Can someone help?

Please note that I do not have access to an exchange server - I simply use
the POP/SMTP protocol to send and receive email via yahoo and gmail servers.

Thanks
Anurag

You can setup Entourage to connect to your Yahoo and Gmail servers with
an IMAP connection. You'll probably have to setup several inboxes for
each one. Use the Account menu within Tools to get started. As far as
migrating your Outlook mail, I believe there is a conversion tool in
Entourage that will convert your mail. You'll have to copy your mail
identity folder from your PC, and put it on the mac- then have
Entourage look for that.

Hope that helps.

Actually, Gmail doesn't support IMAP

I don't think Yahoo Mail does either.

Here are some tools you can use to move mail to Entourage:
This page has a pretty clear tutorial for moving mail from Outlook to
Entourage.

Outlook2Mac advertises that it can automate the same procedure. However,
some users have noted that contacts, calendar events, and tasks don't always
transfer properly.
