Mp3 cause errorin powerpoint during insert shuts down program

Everytime I try to insert a Mp3 sound it causes PP to encounter trouble and
shuts down the porgram. I have updated my office program and it still will
not allow me to insert MP3 to slide show.

I suspect something (another app) has "adjusted" your registry. The
simplest fix is to reinstall Windows Media Player from the MS web site.

Where'd the MP3 come from?
If you go to Start/Run and type in mplay32.exe, does the MP3 play there?

Maybe just download and install PFCMedia and be done with it. That's the
easiest solution. http://www.pfcmedia.com
