mpg2 files and powerpoint

My video capture card records TV programs in mpg -2 format @320 x 240
size - i have other options but this gives me a far better quality and
file size is not a problem for me

i am given to believe that if mplay32.exe does not playback a file
thenn ppt won't either - right?

Well mplay32.exe does not playback mpeg 2 format - therefore is it a
waste to record in this format for clips i wish to insert into ppt

Yes, i know i can link the file via wmp 9 or 10 considering i work with
winxp but ius insert possible

Yes, i have the mpeg2 codec that's for sure

You can insert a Windows Media Player object onto a slide and point it to
your file. It is under the tool bar button "More Tools" (the hammer and
wrench thing). As long as you have an mpeg2 codec installed it should play.

Ok, so is there a question in there somewhere? <g>

Correct

Not, it can play them if they conform to the mpg-2 standard and the decoder
is available to the MCI player.

That is the hard way to do it.

If I may, I'll suggest downloading and trying www.pfcmedia.com , won't cost
you a penny to try it.
