MS Entourage 2008 for Mac

when I start or close the program there is a sequence of pages shown, which
appears to reflect the items of the windows drop down menu on the top line of

If I understand what you're saying, you have extraneous windows open
and you see them opening or closing when you launch or quit Entourage.
You can close them all by holding down the option key on your keyboard
and clicking the close button at the top-left of one of the windows.
