MS Office 2007 Help: Insert a Section Break

T

Trudy

In Word 2007 Help, I searched for instructions for inserting a section break.
I typed "insert section break' in Help but the results did not include steps
as to how to insert one.

Is this just me?

Try "section break" instead.

I don't want to know how to "Change the document layout or formatting by
using sections breaks". I simply want to know how to insert a section break
without having to read a detailed synopsis of what section breaks are, why
they are necessary, etc. etc. [Expletive!]

In the cited article, read the section entitled "Change the document
layout or formatting by using section breaks". It tells you how to
insert a section break, and is even illustrated with a picture for
[Expletive!] people like you, etc., etc.

Interesting that my name is part of your signature and isn't in the second
response.

I know the instructions were in the section at the bottom of the article. No
one should have to read all that content to get to a simple answer. My
expletive was because of the difficulty in finding the answer. I did not
insult you, but you insulted me.

You are obnoxious and rude and should not be allowed to post here.

The instruction, "On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click
Breaks" can be found in the Help content, so it there. :)

Note that in previous versions numerous users expressed their desire for
Help to contain more content, such as, explanations, visuals, etc and I
think they've made some good progress in this area. It sounds like what you
are really looking for is a list of where to find commands in the new
version. If that's the case then here are two resources you might find
helpful:

Interactive Guide:
http://office.microsoft.com/assista...t=788&type=flash&CTT=11&Origin=HA100744321033

Excel Workbook with command list:
http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.aspx?AssetID=AM101938681033&CTT=5&Origin=HA100625841033

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

Yes, it is, it is just that you are using that horrid web interface to post and read and don't always see it. It is an automated signature that inserts the poster's name in the comment before replying. See below, again.

This is not a moderated news group. Anyone who wants to post answers here can, as long as they are on topic, and even then that is sometimes not true.

As for G&O's answer, you are free to read it or not. It is your choice. However, G&O's right to post here is not up for discussion.
