Yes. Some features are not available in 98 and some things like assignments
may be slightly different. I think it is reasonable to upgrade a file (then
do a quick check to see if it converted OK.). I don't think it is reasonable
to continue converting back and forth. It "should" work, but one can never
be sure if everything is represented the same way so subtle differences
might occur.

Yes, but you will lose any 2002 features used.
