MSFT Access Geneology template problem

I downloaded the Access 2000 geneology DB and started
using it. However, in the code this db uses ".additem"
throughout the db and my Access doesn't recognize this.
I've tried add-ins, etc but no luck. Any suggestions? I
have about 15 pgs of family history that I need to get
entered before I lose it!
