The crash is most certainly being caused by MS Office SP3 patch. The
only fix I have found so far is to completely uninstall office and re-
install and do not allow SP3 patch to load through the automatic
updater or on windows update. Yes, it is a pain in the butt, but no
one seems to have an answer to this problem.

This worked for me:

Replace \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\MODI\11.0\MSPVIEW.EXE

with old

\WINDOWS\Installer\$PatchCache$\Managed\9040110900063D11C8EF10054038389C\11.0.5614\MSPVIEW.EXE

There are other sub-folders named with that long string of numbers.
You may have to look in them to find sub-folder 11.0.5614.

Thanks to Pavel in Google Groups microsoft.public.officeupdate for the
pointer. (In his info the long string of numbers started with 5. On
my machine it started with 9. Yours could be different again.)

Good luck
