MSN Hotmail & Outlook 2003

Despite searching this board and following advice I am
still struggling to get Outlook 2003 to work with MSN
Hotmail.
Have followed setup instructions for HTTP, using the same
password as I use when signing into Hotmail through .Net

For a simple test email I get the following error message:

Task 'MSN - Sending' reported error
(0x80004005) : 'Outlook's request to the server failed.
The server responded ''. '

On trying to get a complete download / synchroisation of
all folders I get the following errors:

Task 'MSN: Folder:Sent Items Downloading all items.'
reported error (0x80004005) : 'Outlook's request to the
server failed.

Task 'MSN: Foldereleted Items Synchronizing headers.'
reported error (0x80004005) : 'Outlook's request to the
server failed.

Task 'MSN: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported
error (0x80004005) : 'Outlook's request to the server
failed.
