Multiple, embedded outlines

Hi,

I'm trying to create an outline in MSWord, and then another outline
within that outline. The embedded outline should have a different
format from the first outine. When I try to continue the first outline,
Word obstinately insists that if I want to continue an outline, it will
be the embedded one. Any help on this?

It sounds as if you need to set up the entire thing as a single
outline-numbered list; see

In any case, the key to outline numbering is linking the numbering levels to
styles.
