multiple error messages, won't stop!

i know i'd sent a file that was too big and now it won't stop trying to
send it every two minutes, so every two minutes the icon starts popping
up and down. i can't keep my mail open. how do i get rid of this
message and make it stop trying to send it!?

after looking on here and not finding anything, I decided to post but
now I found out it's in my outbox folder and has been deleted.
