Multiple outgoing messages from distribution list

Using Outlook 2002 and on some distribution lists will
get complaints from recipients that they're getting
upwards to 8 copies of the same message. Quantity seems
to vary and it doesn't seem to apply to all lists.

Any insights? we've got lots of aggravated members!
