Multiplying time

Hi,

I want to calculate telephone charges. The duration of the
call, expressed in minutes & seconds (5:53) multiplied by
a rate, say of 2pence per minute.
I looked in timevalue, but cannot see how to do it.

If indeed they are excel minutes try

=A1*1440*2 (or 0.02 if you want pounds)

However if your minutes are hours instead (you can test that, type in 12:00
and format it as
general and if it is hours it will return 0.5 if it is minutes it will
return 0.00833333333333333

If you have hours instead multiply by 24 and then by the rate
