music in pp 2003

I have pp 2003 and I can not get my cd music to play from slide to slide. Everywhere I look for help, it tells me to go to custom animation and find the effect options tab. There lies the problem, I do not have an effect options tab. Can anyone offer any advice? Pease!! This assignment is due 3/5. Thank you

Those directions are accurate, but are based on PPT 2000. In PPT 2003:
- open the custom animation pane, SLIDE SHOW >> CUSTOM ANIMATION.
- double click on the media (sound) animation in the custom animation pane
- on the EFFECTS tab, set the Stop Playing After __ slides.
That should do it.

Lori (ironic, that is how my wife spells her name as well!),

You can set each slide to automatically advance at preset times. This is
only for approximate timing with a song, PPT cannot time/sync things
perfectly, as the presentation and music will run at different speeds on
different computers and even your computer, depending on what programs are
running.
