Music on Web

I am maintaining several web sites that have streaming audio. Up until now,
all of the audio (both voice and music) have been provided to me on a CD.
Now I have a client who wants me to provide me with a cassette tape.

I have a cassette player which I can plug into my audio card, but I cannot
figure out how to download the music to my desktop as a *wav file so that I
can rip it to MP3 format.

Can anyone tell me how to do that? What program do I use? MusicMatch,
Windows Media player, etc? And what settings? And anything else that will
help me solve this problem.

You might try the Windows Sound Recorder.
It should be in Start menu > Programs > Accessories
Entertainment or Multimedia.

I believe however that it's limited to 2 minutes of recording time.

If you are using XP, 2000, or 2003 you can use Windows Media Encoder to
capture the audio from the Line In port. You can play with various settings
to adjust the quality and bit rate, stereo or mono, etc.
