I Have Been Using A Small Computer Upgraded From 4
Gigabytes To 20 Gigabytes Running Windows 98 SE operating
system and an ATHLON AMD 2400Mhz procesor which worked OK
for a while untill it started to display that there is a
missing DLL file every time I Switched The Damned Thing
On,so I bit The Bullit And A new Tower With 120 GIG HARD
DRIVE/512Ram/Celeron2800+/HYPER THREADING ENABLED
(whatever that is). Both computers use OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6.0
BUT I'M NOT RECIEVING THE MESSAGES AND UPDATES (The New
Tower Runs On The XP Operating System).I Had OFFICE 97
Running On The OLD Tower Using 98SE And Burt it to a cd-r
to tranfer it over to the new tower but it won't display
the desktop icon and does not list it in the programmes
list when you click start. If you click search for and
folders and files for office97/office,all the folders,
files and sub files are there but flatly refuses to run
like a desktop icon acessable programme.PLEASE GIVE ME
THE BENEFIT OF YOUR WISDOM.

Office must be installed from your new operating system to run. Copying the
folders does not "install" it on the computer as the system requires a
number of files installed into the programs directory as well as the system
directory. Installing from the CD is the only way to copy these files for
Office to run.
