My Personal Shortcut Groups are Gone

Hi,

When I opened my MS Outlook 2000 SR-1 program all the groups that I had
created under the shortcuts bar had disappeared. The std. groups (Outlook
Shortcuts, My Shortcuts & Other Shortcuts) are there. My
Outlook.pst file seems to be intact but I can't get to email that I had
stored under my personal groups. Is there anyway I can view the old email
regardless of what group it's stored in?

Use the Folder list to access the mails. Also, you can recreate the groups
that you had and then drag and drop the folders you had in the groups from
the folder list.

I used the folder list and found some lost folders in the standard groups. I
moved them per your instructionsand that worked great. However, I couldn't
find any personal groups that I created or the lost email they contained.

Any suggestions ?

Were these Groups ones you created on the Outlook Bar? If yes, you would
need to recreate them manually. If you said yes to the option of deleting
the items when you removed the old shortcuts, try looking in your deleted
items folder.

If you know the name of one of the items, you can use Advanced Find to see
if it exists anywhere in your .pst file.

I too have a problem with Outlook 2003. I have created
shortcuts to some of my person al folders and some our
from public folders. My other co-workers have the smae
setup but ALL my shortcuts are removed when I exit
Outlook. I ran an advanced search and the folders do not
appear. I have also reintsalled MS office.

We have had several users loose their shortcuts created
for OL 2003. The solution that we have found was that all
of the users had used an apostrophe (') some where in the
shortcut name. i.e.: Bob's work stuff (Shortcut group).
The XML where the shortcuts are saved will not accept an
('). I hope this helps a few of you. Please post this
info in other forums as this may help a bunch of users.
