My replies with specific HTML format setting?

Greetings:

When someone sends me an HTML formatted email message--let's say--in
courier italics, green color and with a tabbed margin, I would like to
reply within specific paragraphs in *my* font, style and margins.

I know I can reply in *my* font--let's say Helvetica. That works. I
have set it in the Preferences section.

However, when I start typing to answer specific paragraphs, I get *my*
font, but then I'm stuck with their color, style and margins.

I would like to use--let's say--brown color, no bold, and no tabbed
margin. Is there a way to do that *without* selecting the text and
changing it with the HTML formatting tool bar? I seem to waste time
reformatting my replies and I'm hoping for a workaround.

Thanks

No. It would certainly be nice to have a default "Reply" format.

Try turning off the HTML & then turning it back on again. This will remove
all character formatting, but has the side effect of removing indents and
added the '>>' style of quoting
