My sent files aren't in their folders

Can you tell me why my sent email at times dose not go into my sent folder
but instead show up in my in-box addressed to me?

See if there are any rules (Tools>Rules), or mailing list rules
(Tools>Mailing List Manager) that are responsible for this behaviour. In
versions prior to Entourage 2008, it is extremely easy to create MLM rules
by accident, and they are usually responsible for the behaviour you are
describing.

It's more complicated than an accidental rule, I'm afraid. It's a flaw (IMO) in how Entourage handles IMAP accounts--namely, Entourage assumes you'll always have access to your IMAP folders and won't ever want to save copies of your outgoing messages on your local drive. See this topic for sympathy and a workaround (though no real solution, to date):
