Mysterious delay opening msg w/ atch

On Win2K with Outlook 2002, I have a mysterious delay of
about 30 sec when I open any message with an attachment.
The delay is almost independent of attachment size, 30K-3M.
Messages without attachments open instantly. I am on a
hispeed network, so I am not sure what is going on. Could
this be a worm or virus of some kind?
