Name entry

In Outlook 2000 I was used to entering the name in natural order (John Smith).
The program would then propose a FileAs as "Smith, John." Now with 2003 it only
proposes "John, Smith" or "Smith John." A peep into the name fields shows that
it has interpreted John to be the last name and Smith to be the first. I'm sure
there is an option somewhere to fix this but I can't find it

You forgot to mention where you are trying to enter these names. That would
be nice to know.
What did you set for your Contacts options in Tools > Options > Preferences?
