Navigation buttons showing as Quicktime pict?

I'm sure I knew the answer to this once, but... I just upgraded my
parents' iMac from a 333 to a 400 (I know, but they only use it for
basic web, mail, and iPhoto). I installed 10.4.11 on the 400, then used
the "Transfer data from old Mac?" during the install (the 333 was
running 10.3.9). All seems to have gone across smoothly, except the
navigation buttons in Entourage 2004 are showing as a funny black &
white image of two faces looking at each other with the words "Quicktime
pict" underneath. Any idea how this happened and how I resolve it?

TIA,

Paul.

This is purely a guess but do you have very much memory on that 400
machine? Some can take 1.5 GB and others can take 2.0 GB. I'd suggest
installing it to the max or it will be extremely slow.

Hope this helps!

Only 512Mb, but at my parents' age, speed is not a requirement. Could
this really be causing this issue, though?

Tiger might be maxing out the old iMac. I would revert to an older OS. I
imagine maxing out the iMac memory wouldn't meet the requirements for
running Tiger and doing much of anything.

I would look at upgrading the iMac or revert so it's useable.

I'd say it's a possibility but I can't say for sure.

I've never seen Quicktime images within Entourage but I know of nothing
that would *put* them there. These same Quicktime images would often
appear as placeholders for graphics in other applications a long, long
time ago. My guess is that your lack of horsepower and memory plus a RAM
hog like Tiger is enough to cause something like this to happen if
Entourage uses some form of Quicktime rendering for its icons.
