Get Smart - This is an easy extension to provide by MS. We need manageable
backup and copy mechanisims to protect our hard work and to easily transport
files between machines and drives.
To date exlorer copy features nor any other windows features provide the
advanced copy features provided years ago with xcopy, which could also be
used to backup our documents and files.
Furthermore xcopy is limitted today by spaces in directory and file names
and will not even work for My Documents.
Backups are essential to us and MS has made backup management impossible.
The advanced features of xcopy also made backups quicker and easier to
accomplish. Explorer doesn't even allow checking the archive attribute.
There is no way to script copies with advanced options for scheduled batch
processing let alone drag and drop.
