Need some info on newsgroups

Hi there. I started using this newsgroup about two weeks ago, and I really
like the concept of it. I've seen that there are many more newsgroups out
there, but unfortunately, the ones I can get from the pre-configured account
in Entourage are all MS-related only. Could someone explain to me how to
configure Entourage (2004) so that I can access other newsgroups as well? As
I said, I'm new to that kind of thing, so could you also tell me if
subscriptions to newsgroups are somehow ISP-related? And what about Usenet?
I came across this one quite a few time when I was "googling" for
newsgroups. Needless to say, I'm confused at the moment.

Many thanks in advance for explaining this to me.

The Microsoft News Server only contains support newsgroups for Microsoft
products. You need access to another news server to access other groups.
Many ISPs provide news servers so that you can access newsgroups. Check
with your ISP to see what the correct settings are. Otherwise, you can use
another news service such as <http://www.supernews.com/>,
<http://www.giganews.com/> or <http://www.teranews.com/>

Use these instructions to set up the news server in Entourage once you have
the settings:

I don't know what you mean.
And what about Usenet?

USENET is the distribution system for all newsgroups. Though a bit
difficult to understand, this message might help you:

Also, Google Groups <http://groups.google.com/> provides a web interface to
many varied newsgroups. You might want to check that out to get started,
since it features a great search system. Then, when you find newsgroups you
find interesting, you can subscribe to them in Entourage.
