Need some way to generate timelines

We use Visio to create timelines for our projects. Nothing fancy - a
rectangle with the left side showing the project start date, right side
showing end date, maybe 10 things that happen in between. I need to come up
with a way to do this on a web page without Visio or anything else (or at
least something simple to implement and cheap). I need to give my users an
interface that lets them type in the dates and have the timeline
automatically generated. I know about things like Kidasa but what I'd really
like to see is some ASP code or something. Any ideas?
