Need to replace file extensions within hyperlinks

Running WinXP SP2 and Office for Small Business 2007. I found a macro from
Jay Freedman at Word MVP that does replacement within links but does not seem
to be able to change file extensions (e.g. *.doc to *.wpd and vise-versa).
