Need to update"Could not open the feature. End of file was reached"

I have learned that my Entourage in Office X Mac can no longer be used. I must update, but do so in steps. I probably have lost all addresses, messages, etc. However, I need to do whatever possible to get the system operating. I am not a techie. What steps do I take? Which version do I start with and how do I do it? I need my Entourage operating now. Thanks.

When you say update, are you considering upgrading to Entourage 2008?

As a consultant, I have recovered Entourage X data and set the user up in

I have Microsoft Office: Mac v X. I guess I reached my limit. I did not realize there was a limit. I cannot do anything in Entourage. The message reads "Could not open that feature. The end of file was reached." I had not backed up my address book or important items for quite a while, unfortunately, and am doing much professional volunteer work, needing those addresses. If I open Entourage, I can see the folders but nothing shows across the top, I get the message and every time I click "OK," the message pops back. I have to force quit my PowerMac G5.

When you say update, are you considering upgrading to Entourage 2008? I am not on the latest Mac operating system. Still 10.4.11.

Entourage X has updates. Under About Entourage in the Menu bar it will tell
you what version of Entourage X you have installed. One of the updates
changed the limit from 2GB to 4GB.

Before you do anything else in Entourage, make a duplicate in the Finder of
your database. As long as you can open Entourage your data can be salvaged.
Let's keep a good copy to work from.

The file that has reached it's end is often the preferences file. Move the
'Microsoft' folder out of your local preferences folder and try again. If
this fails, end of file means the file is too corrupted to rebuild.

Even if you can't rebuild, you can salvage data as long as it will open.

I was able to export my contacts and to permanently delete much of the "deleted" folder. Now I get a message "Could not open that feature. Mail error."

I have Entourage version 10.1.4. How may I contact you off list?

Not sure what the "Mail Error" changes, but most likely it's just another
error coming from a corrupted database.
