New E-Mail Alert

I have just started using MS Outlook and can't get my
message alert to work. All settings for alert are ticked
(default), but no sound is played or visual nofification
seen. Any ideas????

Did you check in Control Panel, Sound scheme to make sure a sound is assigned
for New Mail Notification?
