new email question

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

With my entourage 08 program, when I have received new emails and am ready to delete some, if I keep the top one listed and then delete the second one, the highlighted email becomes the first again, rather than the next one (which is below the one I just deleted). I have not seen this on any other program, and it doesn't make sense... Is there a way to change this preference?

Try using these keyboard shortcuts documented in Entourage help:

OPTION+COMMAND (Apple)+[ Delete the current message and display the
previous message.

OPTION+Command (Apple)+] Delete the current message and display the next
message.

====
CTRL+OPTION+[ Delete the current message and display the previous unread
message.

====
CTRL+OPTION+] Delete the current message and display the next unread
Message.
