I asked online at WIndows Live wether or not I would see a change in functionality if/when I redid my Hotmail account to POP3. I was assured nothing would change. Boy, was I naive! Unless someone can give some hope, I am left with a simple POP account (for which I pay $20/year) that does not sync folders.

I asked online at WIndows Live wether or not I would see a change in
functionality if/when I redid my Hotmail account to POP3. I was
assured nothing would change. Boy, was I naive! Unless someone can

Well, if you were using Windows then everything would pretty much be the
same, however the difference between POP and DAV syncing is exactly what
you see.

The nature of POP is to download and delete. You organize everything on
your computer. The DAV syncing allowed you to organize either on the
server or your computer and changes would sync.

I'm not sure what the $20.00 provides you but as far as connecting from
a Mac is concerned, you can do the same with a free account.

Hope this helps!
