new macbook black - sounds i can't turn off

hi all, i have purchased a new macbook 13inch black, and every now and
then it gives a sound "ping ping ping".

i really have no clue where it comes from...i have only installed
microsoft office on the macbook and while entourage runs it comes up
with that sound too.

can anybody help me on that?

Hi Peter,

could it be the sound notification for "no mail"? Go to
Entourage>Preferences, Notification, and listen to the sounds in there by
clicking on the speaker next to the sound entry. If it is the "no mail"
sound, then you will hear the sound every time Entourage checks for new mail
(as part of a schedule, probably) and doesn't find any. You can disable that
sound in the Preferences.

If it isn't, can you post back with some more details, such as when exactly
these sounds occur, which version of Entourage you are using and so on?
