new server database - now no access

Greetings.
Entourage X

Everything is fine until today when my email host changed their
database. It used to be that I would log into their server with my
user name and PW, and the POP/SMTP would be their domain.com. Now, I'm
supposed to use my own domain.com as the server name, and user and PW
stay the same.
I did all this and Entourage doesn't responds "could not retrieve
mail".
It was doing this before I made the changes also, but after they
changed the database.
After talking with their tech support, we have all the correct info in
place, and the accounts can be accessed throught their website
interface.

He ran out of ideas and suggested that maybe it was the client that was
hanging up on old cache or something.
Basically saying that even though I made the changes in the "Accounts"
panes, Entourage is somehow ignoring the new info and still trying to
access the old server paths.
Not sure if this makes sense. But some suggestions would sure be
appreciated.

ADDENDUM:

I've since created a NEW email address (in addition to those I need to
get working again) at the server. A new Account was created in
Entourage X. Email checks and receives perfectly in that one, but
still no joy with the pre-existing addresses.
This still doesn't tell the actual source of the problem. But it is
new info that might be useful in determining the problem.

Thank you.

Try deleteing the mail account in Entourage and create a new one - it's
possible that something may have got confused.

Hmmm,
Any other ideas?
We are talking about multiple email accounts in Entourage (relative to
this one server/domain), the smallest of which has some 3,000+ emails
in & out that I would have to figure something out with.

Hopefully,

Existing mail in Entourage would not be affected, that will stay in place.

Try the first stage on its own - just create one of the accounts afresh, and
remove the old account from the 'send & receive all' schedule. If that
account then starts receiving mail, you have your solution.
