New text boxes created with Autoflow don't have 'continued on' and 'continued from'

Is there some way in Publisher 2003 that I can have new text boxes created
with Autoflow given 'continued on' and 'continued from' lines? Giving them
to the first text frame doesn't seem to work: nor does using the 'Use this
setting for new text boxes' in the Text Box Format box. Publisher Help
implies that it has to be done for each text box separately, but this seems
crazy to me. Any ideas?

TIA

Jon.

You need to have a text box created already. Publisher doesn't know if you
intend to enlarge the box you already have or delete text so that it will fit
in a given space.

Sorry, I don't understand this. I have created a text box on page 1 of a new
publication and given it the 'Continued on' and 'Continued from' line
properties, as well as three columns. Then I insert a Word document into
this box and say 'Yes' to both Autoflow questions. The text boxes that
appear on the new pages all have three columns but they don't have
'continued on' and 'continued from' lines. Why don't the 'continued on'
properties get copied to new text boxes as the column number properties do?

You will have to do this for each text box. Right-click a toolbar, customize, scroll
down to connect text boxes, drag the Next Text Box and Previous Text Box icons to the
link text boxes toolbar. This will expedite your task, you can drag this toolbar to
the work area and it will float.
