I have a very old DOS-based programme. I enter a client's order details from
which I can generate an order on a supplier, advice note and invoice. The
invoice will calculate carriage charges (minimum charge then x per item
thereafter), VAT and total. It is linked to an address database where I can
save suppliers and regular customers' addresses. It will not run on Vista. I
have (just) grasped the basics of Access but I am unsure exactly how to
achieve the above.

All helpful suggestions welcome!

Your first start could be one of the templates that ships with 2007. Browse
around in them to see how they are generally setup.
