Newbie question: Publication size

V

Veli Izzet

Hi all,

Somehow I cannot create the size of the publication:

1- I want to have it A3, but it insists on using an a4 form even after I
change the paper size to a3 in page setup.

2- Even when using A4, there is a blue rectangle that confines the size
of the publication.

Thanks for the help,

There is a difference between the page size (the place available for layout)
and the actual paper size (to be printed on).
The blue rectangle you see is the paper size, also adjust your page size.

How do I do that?

I have more than one printers, the default being Epson 1290 that CAN
print to A3.

If all you had to do was point out to help instead of helping, you did
not have to jump into the thread.

Use the printer and paper tab in page setup and setup your printer for A3, the page
setup will reflect that setting. The blue rectangle is the default margins, you can
adjust these in the Arrange menu.

Thanks Mary,

I have already done that, but the publication size stays the same, that
is what I cannot understand.

The catalog merge that used to be 6*2 is still 6*2 and the size of the
paper stays the same.

There should be something else..

Are you using the booklet format? The page size is still A3, but when folded in half
it becomes A4. What you are seeing on your screen is half of A3. I'm not too swift
about your paper measurements.

No; I started with blank document, PS: A3 is double A4, which is double
A5 and so on...

OK, I did it.. At the printer pages dialog, I had to change the
publication size after changing the paper size. I had thought with
changing the media size the publication size would change too..

Unless Veli is talking about the Layout Guides, which are precisely that -
guides, which have no bearing on what you can and can't do.
