Newbie questions

Here are some questions I have since recently switching from the aging
Palm Desktop. Can you help?

- Is there a way to change the format of all of my phone numbers to be
the same (even for contacts already entered)?

- Is there a way to sort contacts by date imported, so that I can assign
them all to one category?

- How do I look at the appointments for a single day? In Palm Desktop, I
used to double click on the upper part of the day in month view, and the
day view would come up. But when I do that in Entourage, it always
thinks I'm trying to add an appointment. The only way I can get to
December 15 (for instance), is to click on View Date, then enter the
date or click through the calendar, then click on Day. That seems pretty
clunky. Is there a better way?

- Is there a way to make banners sync correctly with a Palm device,
other than to use Missing Sync? The first day of the multi-day event
seems to sync, but that's it.

For new contacts, go to Entourage > Preferences, and then, under "General
Preferences", click "Address Book" in the left pane. In the right pane,
under "Phone Numbers", check the option to "Format phone numbers".

For contacts that you've already saved or imported into Entourage, download
this script.

Then, drag the script to /Users/<Your User>/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/. Then, in Entourage, select the contact,
and under the script menu (to the right of the Help menu), select "Reformat
phone numbers".

- Is there a way to sort contacts by date imported, so that I can assign
them all to one category?

You can try creating a custom view, but that only works by date modified.
Go to File > New > Custom View. Make a custom view that looks like this
Name: Date Imported Custom View
Item Types: ˆ Contacts
Location: This Address Book: Address Book (On My Computer)
Criteria: Date modified

Then, you can add or subtract criteria to try to find a group of contacts.
You can then select all and assign a category.

Not that I know of. This is unfortunate. Be sure to send the feature
request to Microsoft. In Entourage X or 2004, go to Help > Send Feedback on
Entourage. Otherwise, click on this direct link to enter Mac Product

I don't think so. The conduit included with Entourage was designed for
older Palm devices before they supported multi-day events.
