Good Day All,
Would someone please tell me how to delete the messages from the
newsgroups after I have read them. I have looked for some clue from the help
messages but nothing. I know this is probably a pretty dumb question but I
am very new to this computer jazz. Thanks for your help and patience.

You can¹t delete individual news messages news works differently to mail,
and is server based, not local messages.

You can empty the entire cache which will temporarily get rid of the
messages, but some at least will come back next time a news check occurs.

Rather than deleting old news messages, your newsreader client probably has
a feature to allow you to read ³Unred Only² or something similar. This will
hide old messages.

If your newsreader client offers the option to ³Mark All Read² when leaving
a newsgroup, this is very handy. Entourage, however, does not have this
feature. Once you¹ve read all messages that interest you, click the ³Mark
All Read² button. The next time you enter the newsgroup, only new messages
will appear.

Hope this helps! bill

Do you mean the command ³Mark All As Read² ... the one in the message menu?
If so, you first have to execute the Select All command.

Actually not. You can simply select that from the menu and all currently
displayed messages will be marked read. If you wanted to do the same thing
using the standard "Mark as Read" command, however, you'd need to select all
first.

Remember that in newsgroup views, there is a toolbar button to "Mark All
Read".
