News Server Ofiice 2003 Outlook

My fat fingers dropped the News Command on the Title bar by mistake.
(instead of on the Go Title)
After deleting it from the Title Bar and trying to find the News command
again I noticed it was missing from the list of available commands.
Oh well! Back to Outlook Express for mail and News.
No its not my default News Reader, but for quickies its convenient.
Fat is getting too expensive, especially when they try to tell you how to
eat it.
I should have kept my Amiga 2000 Dam it!
Any ideas?

it doesnt matter whether Outlook accesses news via the "View/Goto/News" or
whether it is a command on the Main Menu. It will still access it via
Outlook Express(or your default newsreader). Thats right, Outlook does NOT
do news apart from an external newsreader such as Outlook Express.

All the "View/Goto/News" command (or ANY Outlook command which calls News)
does is call your default Windows Newsreader. In your case, it calls
Outlook Express in "newsonly" mode. You do not have to use Outlook Express.
There are many other newsreaders out there.

Outlook (all versions) use OE or your installed news reader for news. If you
lost the icon on your toolbar for OE as the news reader (Go to->News) you
will need to set OE, not Outlook, as the default newsreader under Control
Panel->Internet Options->Programs. This step should restore the news button
to your customize options/toolbar. When you open OE, do NOT select to not
use it as the default news reader.

Ah, but how to make Outlook "call up" a newsreader other than Outlook
Express?

How?

Anyone?

Install a news reader other than Outlook Express and make it the default.
