Newsgroup view

Is there any way to view newsgroups like outlook express instead of single
messages - it is very confusing.

David: I am in need of the same thing. In Outlook Express, you can view your
messages grouped by conversation but sorted by From in ascending order. I am
taking an accelerated online MBA program and while I love my Mac and
entourage, the limitations of the view is making my classes difficult to
follow.

Does anyone know how - or even if entourage have the ability to - group the
messages by conversation - regardless if a respondent to the group changes
the subject line? Please let us know as soon as possible.

I found the answer to this question on another site...the answer is NO.
Entourage cannot view or group by message threads. As soon as the subject
line is altered the system creates a new thread, aw shucks.

Difficult to follow is and understatement! I found it so infuriating
that I quit using it! <sigh> Have to use Thunderbird for now....

Been down this road before...I can only hope the rocket scientists at M$
figure out that it might actually be a good thing for their users to
have Entourage actually function like every Unix newsreader in the past
twenty years!?

With a heavier sigh, I just don't understand why Microsoft insists on
not following the RFC's like any decent developer. They just *have* to
muck with everything and make it their way....DOH.

Using Entourage 2004, you can arrange by Conversation. To make it "stick",
you have to create a "Custom Arrangement", name it, make sure you're in the
message list pane (highlight a message), then click on the name you gave the
arrangement. Make sure any settings you want, like Collapse All, are set
when you create the Custom Arrangement.
