No address books available for setting up distributions

When I try to create a distribution list (or actually every time I compose an
e-mail address), I have to manually type in names. No contact lists or
address books are available, even though I have a pretty full Contact List in
Outlook 2003. How can I connect that Contact list to make it available to
select names and addresses from to populate either e-mails or distribution
lists?

Appreciate any help!
