No Association??

I've recently added the SP2 patch to my Windows XP OS. Since that time, I
am unable to open any .pps attachments coming into Outlook Express. Prior
to the SP2 download it all opened automatically with PowerPoint Viewer.

I realize some have suggested I need to save any attachments from Outlook
Express to my hardrive first. That seems like an unecessary additional step
for something which worked fine before.

Any suggestions? Has SP2 changed something I can revert?

There apparently was a problem introduced in Outlook Express with SP2 for users
who only have PowerPoint 2003 Viewer installed (not PowerPoint 2003). I see
that you are using OE, so that would explain your problem.

Please don't uninstall SP2 just because of this. Wait for a fix and until then
continue to save the file to your hard drive and open it from there.
