no email in inbox but you hear inbox sound

I am receiving email in entourage because i see it being removed from
my server but it does not appear any where that i can find it in
entourage. when i do a "send receive" i hear the new mail sound but
can never find the mail. please help

Have you tried rebuilding the database? If not I guess you should give it a
try.

I am having a similar problem with Ent. 2004 - not all emails are

First, check that you don't have 'unread only' or 'flagged only' set in the
view menu.

To rebuild, quit entourage and all other office apps and restart entourage
with the option key held down until you see the rebuild instructions.
