No notification sound on prior exchange folders

I'm a single mac users in a sea of pc's. I had to use office on the pc
until I was able to get a copy of Office:2004 for my mac.

I had some exchange folders on my account that I set up with the pc,
and these showed up on the mac but have no notification sounds when
email goes into them. All the folders I've set since then (on the mac)
play notification sounds, fine... just not the ones that were set up
on the pc.

Any ideas?

You may have server side rules set in Outlook that are moving the
messages. If this is the case then Entourage is not moving them and
probably not playing the alert sounds. Any subsequent rules you have set
are being run by Entourage and receiving any mail in the Inbox (then
getting moved) would play the alert sounds.

I suggest you connect to your account using Outlook on a Windows machine
and deleting all rules that move messages. You'll probably have to set
these rules in Entourage if you don't have them already.
