No "Out of Office" message, when Entourage is closed

Hi,

we are using Entourage 2008 (SP1 -> 12.1) on a Exchange Server 2003 (SP2)
and notice that the Exchange Server create no "Out of Office" Message, when
Entourage is closed. We heard about this bug in entourage 2004, is this bug
still unsolved in Entourage 2008?

Unbelievable...

Bye Tom

Well that's weird...
Entourage 2008 now has the possiblity to set up the OOF message *for the
server*. Once set, it should run no matter whether Entourage is running
or not since it is set on the Exchange server.
That's an Exchange-only feature though.

Where is the possibility to set up a /server rule/ for OOF? Maybe you mean
the "more option" button which is present, if Entourage is connected to an
Exchange Server *2007*. At least I read this in the application help.
Anyway ...we are using Exchange Server 2003 and we have no "more option"
button. Or do you mean to set this up in another menue?

Yes it is and normaly it works fine with outlook on windows or OWA.

Thx & Bye Tom

Well if you are using Exchange 2003, the rule is set on the server and
whether or not Entourage is running should be irrelevant after that.
You can check on the server itself after you've set the rule. Go to your
OWA webmail page and check the Option pane. The OOF rule should be
there.
