no spell check in outlook express

I just bought a brand new computer loaded with Microsoft
XP. I am tyring to use Outlook Express, but the Spell
Check is not available. I went to the Help section, and
it says that for Outlook Express to have a spell check
feature, you must have Works, Powerpoint, etc.

I have Microsoft Works 7.0, and the spell check works
fine in the Works WordProcessor. But why doesn't it work
in Outlook Express.

Please help me if you can,
