No text converter installed Office 2004 - OS X

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC Need to open a ppt file, when I attempt I get,

Powerpoint cannot read outline from "file name" No text converter is installed.

I have the latest updates for office 2004 and Leopard.

Any help?
